Seat Pro

The project aimed to revolutionize seat management and assignment for over 300,000 employees across various locations, shifts, and projects within a multinational company. Faced with the complexities of an outdated legacy system, our team embarked on a comprehensive redesign journey. Through meticulous research, immersive user engagement, and collaborative design thinking workshops, we unearthed underlying workflow challenges and devised innovative solutions.

This endeavor culminated in the development of three key products: The Larger Vision, a holistic ACP tool integrating stakeholder views, seat planning modules, and employee empowerment features; The Global Tool, an advanced solution for city-wide and global space management; and the Hybrid Workforce module, which addressed seat planning challenges during and post-COVID-19, enabling a seamless transition to a hybrid work model.

Achievements

Our client's positive reception of our work was unmistakable as they honored our team's efforts with a standing ovation. Furthermore, implementing the new process resulted in a substantial 60% reduction in manual workload, significantly enhancing project efficiency.

Challenges

The complexity of the legacy system posed substantial challenges, necessitating a thorough grasp of its intricacies to devise a revamped workflow and system. Overcoming the steep learning curve associated with it demanded extensive training and research before initiating the design phase. However, we successfully navigated these challenges and built a robust system by leveraging our expertise and collaborative efforts.

My Contribution

I've been actively involved in this project since its inception, spanning over five years. My primary focus has been on shaping the user experience (UX) and visual design of the system. Prior to the design phase, I conducted essential user research interviews and led co-creation workshops with my team. Additionally, I played a key role in synthesizing research findings into comprehensive reports. Throughout the UI/UX design phase, I iteratively developed wireframes and mockups. Furthermore, I served as the lead designer for the entire project, working within an agile framework to ensure that each user story was effectively implemented and constantly tested for alignment with our design and development goals.
